DK's Comments On The Keystone Pipeline

I posed a question about why all the concern over leaks with the Keystone Pipeline to a group of friends and here is dk's response.
There are probably more miles of pipeline than there are road miles and how often do you hear of leaks, etc.? Remember all the problems the Alaska pipeline was gonna cause? Probably been more train wrecks than pipeline problems. When I flew in the Gulf, I once had a job to test the polarity of the transmission lines. I flew a guy all over southern Louisiana to make sure the pipelines had the correct electrical charge on them so they didn't rust (at least not as fast as normal). They don't just stick them in the ground and leave them. And they mark their location to prevent the most common accident of digging into one. This will be a big transmission line well marked and hard not to see.

I'm scratching my head at the president because he comes to our state and acts like he has been the one to promote and okay this part of the pipeline. Now he has reversed his position and doesn't want the oil companies to have subsidies. What subsidies?

Despite the high cost of fuel, Democrats are insisting on pushing a plan to raise taxes that they themselves admit 'will have no impact on gasoline prices.' http://youtu.be/EW3FyOKGO8A

Oklahoma City April 15, 2009 Tea Party

I went to the Tea Party and had to park about a mile and a half away. While there someone told me there were 21,500 people there. After the Tea Party was over I went inside the capitol and saw my senator and representative. I told my representative and senator what I had been told about the number of people who had attended the Tea Party. Now I find out from the news media there were 5,000 people. Later in the evening the news media said there were 4,000 people in attendance. I have no idea because I didn't get a view of the people from a high spot. I was down on the ground level so all I could see were thousands of people. I wanted it to be 20,000 people and at first I thought I had gotten my wish. I'm not complaining about the numbers but wish we had rallied more people to protest Obama's taxes.

It was a great Tea Party with lots of homemade signs. One man who stood by me for a few minutes said he had made his sign but it looked professionally made. I had tried to make a sign before leaving home but gave up because of time constraints. I would have made one on Monday but I was very sick with an infection in one of my teeth and had to go to the dentists and I slept the rest of Monday. Tuesday I felt better but had to go to a surgeon who will take out my tooth next week. Tuesday afternoon I took my parrot to the vet to have a check-up. She is getting better but I still have to give her medicine. So I've had no time to make a sign. I had thought of making one that said, "Remember the Alamo," "It's Tea Party Time," "It's Tea Time" "Throw the Tea Tax Overboard," "Throw The Bums Out."

PORKY Democrats May Get A Tea Party

Below is the text of an email I sent to my senator.

"Please don't let a desire to please the president over shadow the problems with the new 'stimulus package'.

What will

  • $50 million for Endowment for the Arts
  • $400 million for Climate Change
  • $335 million for sexually transmitted diseases education
  • $79 billion to bail out states who have overspent
  • $30 billion for COBRA extensions
  • $20 billion for food stamps
  • $89 billion for Medicare
  • $1.7 billion for the National Park System
  • $55 million for the Historic Preservation Fund
  • $7.6 billion for "rural community advancement programs"

do to create jobs?

This bill is full of PORK. Pigs will feed on anything, they roll in the mud. They are not something we want living in our homes as a rule. I know because I raised five baby pigs.

The Democrats are doing awful things to their own country.
Please don't make us live down in the mud with the pigs. Tell the democrats to go buy their own package of beacon and not require the American people to pay for it.

If those who voted for Obama want to have this PORK then let them sign-up to pay for it. Those who voted for McCain refuse to pay for their PORK.

I for one refuse to pay for this.

If you voted for Obama or a Senator that votes for this "stimulus bill" then YOU pay for it with YOUR taxes.

We are not rich and we need tax relief, not more taxes. If those who are our leaders don't pay taxes why should we pay taxes? I think it's time for a tea party."
